Education in Haiti is governed by the Haitian Ministry of National Education and Professional Training (Ministère de l’Education Nationale et de la Formation Professionnelle, or MENFP). Even though most of the schools in Haiti are private, the MENFP is charged with regulating the entire educational system. The Ministry of Education has two main goals: (1) to provide educational services to its citizens and (2) to play a normative and regulatory role.
The MENFP plays a significant role in the determination of curriculum content, regulations, validation of degrees and certificates, and inspections.
