❤️🤝 J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO)
Founded in 2010 by Sean Penn following Haiti's devastating January 12 earthquake, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) was established to provide immediate humanitarian assistance while laying the foundation for long-term recovery and sustainable development. What began as an emergency relief mission rapidly evolved into one of Haiti's most recognized humanitarian organizations, working alongside Haitian communities, government institutions, international development agencies, and local organizations to strengthen resilience and improve quality of life.
Today, J/P HRO's legacy continues through its affiliation with CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), an international humanitarian organization that expanded the original Haiti-focused mission into a global disaster response network while maintaining significant operations throughout Haiti.
The organization believes that sustainable development is achieved when local communities actively participate in designing, implementing, and managing solutions to their own challenges. Rather than providing only emergency assistance, J/P HRO invests in long-term capacity building that strengthens public health systems, improves disaster preparedness, enhances educational opportunities, supports environmental restoration, and promotes resilient neighborhoods.
Its work has impacted hundreds of thousands of Haitians through integrated programs focused on health, infrastructure, education, environmental conservation, and community development.
🎯 Mission
J/P Haitian Relief Organization is dedicated to saving lives, reducing vulnerability, and empowering Haitian communities through sustainable development, community participation, and innovative humanitarian programs.
The organization seeks to build healthier, safer, stronger, and more resilient communities capable of responding effectively to future disasters while creating opportunities for long-term economic and social development.
👁️ Vision
To help Haiti become more resilient by strengthening local institutions, investing in community leadership, restoring natural resources, and creating sustainable development programs that improve lives for generations.

⭐ Why J/P HRO Stands Out
