Established on 30 November 1907 by presidential decree and granted public authority through the decree of 18 June 1964, the CCIH has spent well over a century advocating for economic growth, entrepreneurship, investment promotion, and private sector development.

As Haiti's highest institutional representative of commerce and industry, the CCIH coordinates the country's ten Departmental Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCID), ensuring nationwide representation of businesses across all departments.
