Fonds de Développement Industriel (FDI) is Haiti’s premier public industrial development financial institution, established by presidential decree on March 26, 1981, and operating under the aegis of the Banque de la République d’Haïti (BRH) with operational and financial autonomy. 

FDI’s core mission is to promote and accelerate industrial growth, strengthen the private sector, and improve access to financing for productive enterprises across Haiti. It plays a catalytic role in bridging financing gaps for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), manufacturing firms, and key sectors by providing tailored financial instruments, risk mitigation solutions, and technical assistance. 

Over decades, FDI has evolved from acting primarily as a lending intermediary through banks to direct participation in financing and risk-sharing mechanisms, using instruments like co-financing, participatory loans, credit guarantees, and equity participation. 

Through strategic partnerships with the government, international development banks, and private stakeholders, FDI is recognized as a central player in Haiti’s industrial finance ecosystem — helping companies modernize, expand operations, and contribute to socioeconomic growth and job creation.
