BACKGROUND
Office 1 Superstores International (OFFICE 1) started out in 1989 under the brand name Carlin in Madrid, Spain as a partnership between Mark Baccash and Jose Luis Hernandez with the launch of a self-service superstore which grew into a chain of 475 Carlin franchised stores with annual turnover in excess of 200 million Euros. In 1994, OFFICE 1 was founded by Mark Baccash with the objective of expanding the concept internationally through master franchises under the OFFICE 1 brand name. To date there are hundreds of OFFICE 1 stores in 24 countries.
To help its master franchisees capitalize on the fast growing Ecommerce segment of the business, OFFICE 1 recently developed a state of the arts Ecommerce platform backed by a unique web franchising concept. By 2012, OFFICE 1 had introduced the its platform in a number of markets: France at www.office1.fr, Germany at www.office1shop.de, the Czech Republic at www.office1.cz. Greece, Slovenia, Philippines and Peru to name a few.
