Antoine Simon International Airport (CYA) is a public aviation facility serving Les Cayes and Haiti's southern peninsula, providing an increasingly important air gateway for the Sud Department and the wider Grand Sud.

The airport is named in honor of François Antoine Simon, Haiti's 18th president, who served from 1908 to 1911. The original airport was inaugurated in May 2005, while a major expansion program launched in the following decade sought to transform the regional facility into an airport capable of receiving international traffic.

A major milestone arrived in March 2025, when Haiti's Autorité Aéroportuaire Nationale formally announced that Antoine Simon Airport was open to international flights. Improvements included rehabilitation of the main building and facilities for Customs, Immigration and the Brigade de Lutte contre le Trafic de Stupéfiants (BLTS).

The development gave Haiti a strategically important international-capable gateway outside Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haïtien. Its location is particularly valuable because it provides direct aviation access to southern Haiti, including Les Cayes and surrounding destinations, without requiring travelers and cargo to transit through the capital.

The airport achieved another historic milestone on November 10, 2025, when IBC Airways operated its inaugural commercial passenger service from Miami to Les Cayes. The route represented the first commercial passenger connection linking South Florida directly with Haiti's southern peninsula.

As of July 2026, scheduled-flight databases also show Sunrise Airways domestic service connecting CYA with Port-au-Prince (PAP) and Cap-Haïtien (CAP). Because airline schedules can change rapidly, passengers should verify current operations directly with the airline before traveling.
