About Us

Quisqueya Christian School’s mission is to provide the best possible US education where students learn to understand, interpret and analyze the world from a Christian view. Quisqueya Christian School shall provide a biblically integrated program based on and correlating with the American system of education.

QCS is an international Christian school that uses an American-style, college preparatory curriculum to students from pre-kindergarten through high school. QCS holds full accreditation with two accrediting agencies: ACSI, the Association of Christian School’s International, and AdvancED.  QCS offers a college preparatory program and universities such as Calvin, Baylor, Biola, University of Chicago, Cornell, Brown, Duke, University of North Carolina, Eastern, Florida State, Rice, Indiana University, University of Florida, Virginia Tech, Purdue, McGill, University of British Columbia, and similar institutions have accepted recent graduates.

Organization:  The school is governed by a 9-member Board of Trustees, composed of expatriates and Haitian professionals.  The board is self-perpetuating with no term limits.   The Board hires a director to run the school, and the director assembles an administrative team consisting of principals, business and plant managers, and other staff.

The faculty is composed of qualified teachers recruited primarily from the United States and Canada.

Staff includes two nurses, teacher aides, two librarians, learning support services for both gifted students and students who struggle, a guidance counselor, and a student activities coordinator.

Enrollment:  For the academic year 2012-2013, total enrollment was 305 with 150 elementary students, 51 in middle school, and 94 high school students.

Athletics:  QCS fields teams in basketball, soccer, and volleyball and participates in league play. QCS offers intramural sports and a dynamic physical education program. QCS hosts an active table tennis club.

Facilities:  QCS has 8 buildings on its three and a half acre campus, including a Secondary Building, where grades 7-12 meet, and the Elementary Classroom Building.   The library has over 20,000 books, the computer lab for the secondary building has 24 computers, and there is a mobile lab of 25 computers for the elementary.  Other features include a weight room, an outdoor polypropylene copolymer basketball court, a soccer field, and an auditorium.

QCS sustained no damage from the January 12, 2010 earthquake.
