“Artisans du Soleil by Giovanna Menard” The brand concept is to create and develop several lines of beautiful fashion accessories made of luxurious high hand handcrafted items like: Hand Bags, jewelry, Caftans, blouses, sandals ect...

All, with in mind a global look which is the combination of the rich and gorgeous elements of the very creative Haitian culture and a modern touch; the first store has open its doors in Petion Ville, Haiti’s most luxurious area and the company’s goal is to evolved into a million dollar business going global with stores locations in the major cities of the world.

But also important to us is to use the brand Artisans du Soleil by Giovanna Menard in showing to the world the wonderful cultural values of Haiti and get involved in order to contribute to the development of her country by creating jobs and trainings in her workshop for people with creative potentials. In this latest collection, you will discover items created and designed by the artist and entirely hand made by Haitians artisans.

Their beauty and uniqueness will leave you breathless and unable to resist.

The Designer

Giovanna MENARD, born in Haiti was raised by her grand parents in Port-au-Prince, and followed at a very young age the path that seemed natural, that of her grand father's profession, and becomes a lawyer by age 22.

However Giovanna grew up in a mileu surrounded by arts, specially her mothers’ creations, an art connoisseur who is also a brilliant dressmaker, an artist at heart. Giovanna undoutedly inherited this great artists creativity and love for beautiful things. With both passion and brilliant creativity she sketches clothes and accessories during her teenage years for her girlfriends and herself which her mother or local dressmakers would confection.

Six years ago, strongly encouraged by her entourage, she finally fulfilled her calling by attending jewelry school during a summer vacation in New York. Upon her return to Haiti, she designed her very first collection of jewelry and hand Bags and developed a brand named Giovanna Menard for Christmas of year 2004. The small collection sold out in just a matter of days. The artist was born, grew confident in her talents and she never stopped designing, creating since.

Semi precious stones, pearls, local bone, stones, gold, silver, wood and horn make sumptuous jewelry. Natural fabrics like Burlap, cotton, jean, silk, straw, Siam are used for the hand bags. Beautiful embroideries, crystal beads, and sequins are carefully chosen to embellish and create a unique item. more...
