About Us

David Bassett founded the Company with one leased airplane as a Part 135 air-taxi operator in the U.S. and Bahamas, providing small cargo flights, as well as passenger and air-ambulance charters.
Amerijet signed its first air cargo contract with Purolator Courier Corporation and purchased its first plane, a twin-engine Cessna 401. Amerijet flew for Purolator longer than any other carrier until Purolator’s merger with Emery Worldwide in 1987.
Amerijet was flying overnight courier routes for many companies, and had grown enough to invest into its first jet, a Learjet.
Amerijet expanded its jet fleet with four Falcons, enabling it to pick up more business from overnight shipping services while it continued to offer passenger charters.
Amerijet purchased its first Boeing 727-100, greatly enhancing its cargo capability and effectively enabling it to progress into the dynamic international cargo carrier it is today.
Amerijet opened its hub at the Miami International Airport, marking the foundation of what would grow to become the heart of its international presence.
Amerijet opened the first two of its international stations in Mexico and initiated its scheduled air cargo operation with Boeing 727-100 and Boeing 727-200 aircraft.
's Amerijet expanded into the Caribbean, South and North America, building its market presence for international trade. During the mid-1990’s Amerijet entered the European markets, by establishing offices in London, Amsterdam and Brussels. In the late1990’s Amerijet stretched its wings far east by entering the Asian markets with offices in Japan, Taipei, Bangkok and Indonesia.
's In addition to expanding its footprint throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America, Amerijet entered into the Central American markets by opening offices in San Salvador, San Pedro Sula, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica and Managua.
Amerijet started to diversify its line of business and continued to grow with its acquisition of I.T.N. Consolidators, a Miami-based NVOCC with leading presence servicing the Caribbean and South America.
Amerijet acquired SRX Transcontinental, providing valuable market presence in Central Asia and Nations Express, a premier provider of expedited trucking and logistics services in the United States and Canada.
Amerijet deployed two Boeing 767-200 aircraft, allowing the Company to service existing markets with greater efficiency and expanded cargo capabilities.
Amerijet added its third Boeing 767-200 aircraft with a focus on new markets.

Amerijet’s primary goal has always been, and will continue to be, developing long-term relationships with customers by providing first-class service, equipment, and facilities. Amerijet’s dedication to quality service and its entrepreneurial spirit motivate the company to constantly seek the best methods of providing optimal service to its customers. As a worldwide carrier with a leading presence in its primary service regions of Latin America and the Caribbean, the company is poised for continued global growth.
